Let’s leave the horrors of the war now. Many people do not know that one of the most important philosopher of our history, Arthur Schopenhauer, had a poodle. Schopenhauer was a very asocial man, for this reason many people were surprised about his love for a poodle.

More precisely, Schopenhauer had two poodles. The first, Atma –an ancient word from Sanskrit which means “Soul of the world” – died in 1850. The philosopher immediately bought another poodle, and he named him with the same name of the previous one. For this reason, many people believe that he had just one poodle.

Both of them, used to follow Schopenhauer in restaurants, during his walks, etc. The German philosopher used to call him “Sir” and even changed house when his neighbour complained about the dog’s bark.
