If you have to reach the farm by car, you should bring another person with you. In this way, he will drive while you will take care of your dog during the trip.
Bring a collar, a leash and a blanket. If the dog will have to face a long travel, you should take with you a water bowl. You should also stop at least one time per hour to allow the dog to take his needs.
It is preferable to bring the puppy home before the sunset, in order to allow him to take confidence with the new environment. Remember that is the first time he sleeps without his mother and his siblings. Put a blanket inside the kennel to give him the illusion of the mother body heat.
If you have a garden, is preferable to put the puppy there, as soon you arrive home, in order to make him understand that’s the place in which he will have to take his needs.
Start calling him with the name you gave him. You should not call him with his name too often, or the dog may think that’s a common word.
